TAORMINA ARTE 2012 – STING on July 3 OPENS THE SEASON OF CONCERTS

While waiting for the programs and the names of the artists who will perform in Taormina Arte 2012, we are pleased to announce that on July 13th the English singer Sting will give a concert at the The Ancient theatre of Taormina. This will be one of the three dates of his Italian tour which starts on July the 10th in Piazzola sul Brenta near Padova at the amphitheatre Camerini; the second date will be at the The Ancient theatre of Taormina, and then the third one on July 15 in Perugia at the historical Umbria Jazz Festival. In these concerts Sting will be perform accompanied by his old guitarist Dominic Miller, David Sancious on keyboards,Vinnie Colaiuta on drums, Peter Tickell on electric violin and Jo Lawry (voice). Sting was born in Newcastle in England, he is a complete artist,composer, singer, songwriter, actor and activist. Since 1985, Sting has released 13 solo albums, and to celebrate the twenty-fifth anniversary of his career, he has published the box set "25 Years” and the double CD "The Best of 25 Years". Together with his band he has released five albums and won six Grammies. He is one of the most beloved artists in the world, as a solo artist he has sold 100 million albums and won 10 Grammies, a Golden Globe, an Emmy and three Academy Award nominations.
